Where EasyWorship is the better choice

Volunteers

A new volunteer can run a service after one walkthrough

EasyWorship’s name says it all, making it "easy" for volunteers to run a service with little training. Contrastingly, ProPresenter’s learning curve is the single most common drawback in its own reviews, with some reviewers saying it is more than they needed.

Licensing

One price covers the church

Campus license, all updates and upgrades, support, and an instructor-led training session are included rather than bought separately. With ProPresenter, seats, copyrighted Bibles, and ProContent are each their own purchase.

Preview

Preview every slide before it goes live

A dedicated preview pane lets volunteers see exactly what the congregation will see before sending it live.

Bible translations

Bible plugins licensed to your church, not to each machine

Both products charge for copyrighted translations. EasyWorship’s are licensed per site, so one purchase of the NIV covers the booth machine, the office machine, and the backup. ProPresenter charges $15 per translation per computer.

Reflow lyrics

Break songs into slides automatically

EasyWorship reflows lyrics inside the same outline editor you already use, and can split songs by number of lines or let you place the breaks yourself. ProPresenter’s Reflow is a separate mode you switch into, and breaks are placed by hand.

Trial

Thirty days to decide, fully functional, no credit card required

EasyWorship offers a 30-day trial, against ProPresenter which offers a 14-day trial.

Training

Instructor-led training is included

Every subscription includes an instructor-led training session to help your team get comfortable with EasyWorship.

Support

Support is included on every plan at no extra cost

EasyWorship offers free support including screen-sharing troubleshooting. Our team of experts are dedicated to helping you make the most of EasyWorship in your church.

What church teams say

Our church has been using EasyWorship as our presentation software for more than 15-years. For us, it's very user friendly and fulfills our expectations nicely. And when we have a question, customer support is first-rate. We're very pleased!

There have been times when our A/V person does not show up and we've been forced to use someone who has never used the software before. A quick 2 to 3 minute tutorial and they are up and running.
Verified UserRead more reviews on G2
Quite honestly, it’s EASY! The software is very intuitive! I can train someone to use EasyWorship in a matter of minutes, even folks who would consider themselves not tech-savvy!

When to choose ProPresenter

Output flexibility

For churches needing four or more independent outputs

For setups that need four or more different outputs on multiple audience screens, stage displays, or room feeds, ProPresenter offers more flexible output configuration.

Broadcast

Direct broadcast hardware support

ProPresenter supports direct output through supported Blackmagic DeckLink and UltraStudio hardware. EasyWorship can connect to SDI equipment through an external HDMI-to-SDI converter.

Multilingual display

Display Scripture in multiple languages

For congregations that need Scripture in two languages at once, ProPresenter supports displaying multiple Bible translations simultaneously.

Integrations

Connect with the tools your team already uses

If your team already relies on Planning Center, MultiTracks, or Resi, ProPresenter’s integrations may be a better fit for your existing workflow.

Editor

Advanced slide-design tools

For teams creating more complex presentations, ProPresenter offers tools such as Bezier curves, animated elements, data-driven text, and conditional element visibility.

EasyWorship vs. ProPresenter

Important questions to consider

  1. Pricing

    Is EasyWorship cheaper than ProPresenter?

Yes. EasyWorship is cheaper for one computer and the price difference widens when using two or more computers.

EasyWorship starts at $210 per year with a campus license included, so you can install it on as many computers, for as many users, as your church campus needs. ProPresenter starts at $289 per year for a single-seat license, which covers one computer. Therefore, a church with one computer saves $79 a year with EasyWorship.

The gap grows with every computer you add. Two ProPresenter seats cost at least $578 per year, and its campus license starts at $649 per year for up to 20 seats. Both cost far more than any EasyWorship plan and every EasyWorship plan covers unlimited computers.

EasyWorship offers Premium Media for $120 per year ($10 monthly) with more than 50,100 pieces of content. ProPresenter offers ProContent with 50,000 pieces of content for $199 per year plus a $99 setup fee. This widens the price difference even more in favor of EasyWorship.

In addition, ProPresenter charges for copyrighted Bibles per translation per computer, while EasyWorship charges once per translation regardless of the number of machines.

  2. Volunteers

Which is easier for volunteers to learn?

    EasyWorship.

Its simpler workflow is especially well suited to churches that rely on rotating volunteers. Even Renewed Vision’s own EasyWorship comparison guide describes EasyWorship as “simple and straightforward to use” and “designed with Sunday mornings in mind.”

That simplicity matters when the person running the presentation changes from week to week. Training is not just something a church does when it first buys the software. Every new volunteer has to learn the workflow, so the time it takes someone to become comfortable in the booth becomes an ongoing operational cost.

ProPresenter offers considerably more production depth, and some reviewers find it easy to use once they know the software. But its learning curve does come up in user reviews. One G2 reviewer described the learning curve for setup as “a little steep,” while noting that running the software live becomes intuitive once learned. Another said there was a learning curve initially, but that the tutorials helped them get a good grasp of the program.

For churches with dedicated production staff, that additional complexity may be a worthwhile tradeoff for ProPresenter’s deeper capabilities. For churches that regularly put new volunteers in the booth, EasyWorship’s more straightforward workflow can make getting someone ready for Sunday simpler.

  3. Production

Does ProPresenter have features a small church actually needs?

Some, and several it does not.

ProPresenter’s advantages concentrate in broadcast production: four or more outputs, DMX, timecode, and an advanced design editor, features more suited to large churches with large scale production teams and multiple stage feeds. A church with one screen, a stage display, and a livestream feed is served by both EasyWorship and ProPresenter. EasyWorship likely has all of the features a small to medium sized church actually needs and can accomplish everything easily to build and run an effective service. ProPresenter has more bells and whistles, but many if not most small to medium sized churches do not need to pay for those extra features.

  4. Lyrics

How fast is it to get a song’s lyrics onto slides?

EasyWorship reflows song lyrics inside the same outline editor used for everything else, and can break a song into slides automatically by number of lines.

ProPresenter handles this in a separate Reflow mode, with slide breaks placed manually. ProPresenter’s interface has distinct Show, Edit, Reflow and Bible modes; a volunteer has to know which one they need before they can do anything. On the contrary, EasyWorship keeps lyric reflow in the editor the volunteer is already in. EasyWorship’s lyric reflow is a major time saver: import a song, choose two lines per slide or four, and you’re done, with manual control still available when a chorus needs to break somewhere specific.

  5. Platforms

Do both EasyWorship and ProPresenter run on Mac?

Yes. EasyWorship 8 runs natively on macOS and Windows with feature parity, and ProPresenter runs on both as well.

EasyWorship’s Mac support is new with version 8. Some third-party comparisons and ProPresenter’s own guide still describe EasyWorship as Windows-only, which is now out of date.

The experience for EasyWorship users on Mac or Windows is designed to be cross-platform, so your schedules, songs, and media can be used on either operating system. That means your team can prepare a service on Windows and open it on a Mac, or vice versa, without maintaining separate versions of your presentation. One EasyWorship subscription also allows installations on multiple computers for the licensed church location, so your team isn’t locked into choosing Mac or Windows.

  6. Bibles

How many Bible translations do you get, and what do they cost?

EasyWorship offers 100 Bible translations, while ProPresenter offers 125.

Many translations are free in both programs, while major copyrighted translations such as the NIV, ESV, NLT, and NKJV require an additional purchase. EasyWorship currently lists these major translations at $29 each.

The biggest difference is how those purchases are licensed. EasyWorship Bible plugins are licensed to your church site, while ProPresenter licenses paid Bible translations per computer. That matters more as you add machines.

For example, if your church uses a booth computer, an office computer, and a backup computer, an EasyWorship Bible plugin is purchased once. With ProPresenter, a $15 translation licensed on all three computers would cost $45. For a church using only one computer, ProPresenter’s $15 price is lower.

So ProPresenter gives you more translations overall, while EasyWorship’s site-based licensing can become more economical when the same paid translation is needed across several church computers. Copyrighted translations are not included with EasyWorship or ProPresenter and must still be purchased separately.

  7. Cloud sync

Does either one sync your services to the cloud?

EasyWorship is actively working toward cloud sync for both the Presentation software and also its Planning software. ProPresenter does not offer cloud sync.

EasyWorship has made recent database upgrades which are building toward cloud sync, where users will soon be able to sync among all computers and no longer need to copy files from one computer to the next. This will also ultimately allow EasyWorship’s Planning software to sync with its Presentation software. ProPresenter does not offer this functionality.

Switching from ProPresenter

You won’t have to start from scratch. Here’s what comes with you and what you’ll need to rebuild:

What transfers:

  • Your CCLI song library
  • Your media library

What doesn’t transfer:

  • ProPresenter-specific slide designs
  • Macros and automations

FAQ

At entry, modestly: EasyWorship starts at $210 per year with a campus license included on every plan, and ProPresenter starts at $289 per year, with a single-seat license available and a Campus tier at $649 per year for 20 seats. The gap widens as you add machines, since ProPresenter charges per seat and bills copyrighted Bibles per translation per computer.
