EasyWorship & Windows 8

Postby Rodger » Tue Nov 06, 2012 3:39 pm

It looks like all the features in EasyWorship seem to work fine in Windows 8 except the DVD function.

EasyWorship 2009/2007 will not allow you to create or play a DVD clip windows 8.
You'll get the following error when you try to add a clip.
---------------------------
EasyWorship 2009/2007
---------------------------
Access violation at address 0055833A in module 'EasyWorship.exe'. Read of address 67F85000.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

The DVD editor window will not lock up, so you will be able to close the window without having to close EasyWorship.

Is there a fix planned for this issue, or will we have to upgrade to the newest version of EW to run Win8?

I haven't heard of any fixes being planned for the current version of EasyWorship. It looks like it will probably just be fixed in the next major version release.
Keep in mind the rest of the software seems to work well on Windows 8.

Dear all,

Please help,
My easy worship 2009 works fine before at windows 7. After i upgrade my laptop to windows 8, it shows these messages:

1. Access violation at address 007EEE2E in module 'EasyWorship.exe'. Read of address 00000000.
2. Access violation at address 007EEE43 in module 'EasyWorship.exe'. Read of address 00000000.
3. Access violation at address 0046C587 in module 'EasyWorship.exe'. Read of address 00000057.

And the program close. So my easy worship 2009 won't open.

I've been trying to uninstall and reinstall easyworship, and it still shows the same.
What should i do?

Thanks,
donnihw

Did you do a clean install of windows or an upgrade. If you did an upgrade there's no telling what got mangled up in the upgrade process. We were successful doing a normal upgrade and a clean install upgrade and both seemed to work fine after the upgrade. Check the printer you have set as the default printer.
Try changing it to the xps printer or maybe onenote and see what happens.

Just wanted to verify that EasyWorship 2007 and 2009 work with Windows 8--except for the DVD functionality listed. Please let me know if I am correct.

Thanks.

hmm... is there any workarounds to access the DVD function back, in Windows 8, like using another 3rd party DVD player?

not that I know of.
You can get windows media center and try to use that.
You can't play DVDs in Windows 8 without media center.
You can get media center for free until sometime in January of next year.
It won't integrate with EasyWorship.

Any chance of considering using VLC to add support for DVD/Video playback. It's free. The support level is good. Includes codecs for most common internet video/audio formats. I use it all the time outside of easyworship and would love to use it in easyworship. Even a built-in "add to scheduled service" launcher for my own VLC command line instructions would be great. The launcher might really launch any program on que and let me handle rest. That would be an advanced user function but still could be very useful

In addition to the DVD issue you may experience issues with transitions and some video files on EasyWorship 2007.

How about PowerPoint 2013? Has it been tested with EW 2009? If we upgrade to Office 2013 will we need to use the PowerPoint 2010 viewer?

Thanks!

check out this thread.

We know that the click to run version of PowerPoint 2013 doesn't work.
I'm not sure about the normal version of PowerPoint 2013.
