Won't Open/Backgrounds

Postby ParkwayRoad » Thu Jan 06, 2011 5:17 pm

I've had a rough hour or two here with a few different issues.

1) I deleted most of the backgrounds we had
2) I began loading new ones I had compiled
3) I started getting an error code
4) then started getting a "Key Violation" message
5) I looked at old posts on these forums and tried a few things (ie- /convertdatabase)
6) I was able to get into Easyworship but nothing would work in terms of any backgrounds let alone allow me to load any new ones
7) I now am unable to even log in as when I try to there is a "identified a problem/going to fix it" message but when I click on it nothing happens. I can't even get in to Easyworship.

Any help with this would be great! We have 3 services coming up this weekend and as of right now I have no access to the program, and even if I did the whole background database is screwy.

Ben,
I think your backgrounds database may be corrupted.
browse to the profile folder.

Vista/ 7 C:\Users\Public\Documents\Softouch\EasyWorship\Profile Folder (usually default)
XP C:\documents and settings\all users\shared documents\softouch\easyworship\Profile Folder (usually default)

Open databases\data
rename all of the backgrounds files.
Delete the version.dat file.
Open EasyWorship.
The database will convert and EW will open.
Click profiles, database tools, add remove demo data.
Tell it to unistall the songs and backgrounds from EasyWorship.
Then go back and install them.
That will get you back to the basic backgrounds that come with EasyWorship.
You can add more from there. Try to remember the last background you added.
Add it to the media area of EasyWorship and see if it works properly before adding it to backgrounds.

I'm not sure how I get to the Profile Folder? We are running XP.

Oh, I got it working! Thank you for your help!
Everything seems to be okay, just need to identify which file out of the 400 I'm trying to load is the corrupt one!

Please help me understand how to do this. I am not real computer savvy and don't won't to mess anything up! The part where you state:
Open databases\data
rename all of the backgrounds files.
Delete the version.dat file.

First I was able to get to Open databases/data. However, you lost me at "rename all of the backgrounds files." Please explain in detail what you mean by this.

Thanks,
Martha

There are four backgrounds files. Right click on each of them, click on rename in the menu and type a 1 at the end of the file name.
You can do the same thing with version if you don't want to delete it.
